The Museum of the Treasure of the Cathedral of Genoa collects objects of great beauty, including: the Ark for the relics of St. John the Baptist, a masterpiece of late Gothic jewellery (XV century); the Ark called Barbarossa, a Romanesque reliquary from 1100; the Plate of St. John, an object in chalcedony dating back to the Roman imperial age. The Diocesan Museum preserves numerous works of art: ancient manuscripts, precious liturgical vestments, the Funeral Monument of Cardinal Luca Fieschi by the school of Giovanni di Balduccio da Pisa and paintings such as the Madonna della Vittoria by Giovanni Barbagelata.
