Florence: the Novecento Museum
The Novecento Museum was inaugurated in 2014 and located inside the ancient Spedale delle Leopoldine right in front of the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella. It houses about 300 works by great masters of 20th and 21st century art. Among the artists exhibited, we remember Giorgio De Chirico, Filippo De Pisis, Gino Severini, Giorgio Morandi, Mario Mafai, Renato Guttuso, Felice Casorati. In particular, the legacy of Alberto Della Ragione and that of the Ottone Rosai family are significant. The works by ottone Rosai include two groups: the portraits, from the Tondini and Amici series made between the 1940s and 1950s, and the views of Florence at the turn of 1954 - 55.
