The Basilica of the Holy Cross in Florence
The Basilica of Holy Cross is one of the largest Franciscan churches and one of the most important examples of Gothic architecture built in Italy. It is a treasure chest of masterpiecesand it houses - among many others - works by Agnolo Gaddi, Desiderio da Settignano, Giotto, Donatello. Here you can also see the tombs of Galileo Galilei, Michelangelo Buonarroti, Gioacchino Rossini and the cenotaph of Dante Aligheri.
